IMTEX 2027 visitor guide: how an international team should plan the week
Most overseas manufacturers that go to IMTEX for the first time go as visitors, not exhibitors. That is a sound way to start, whether you are coming from Europe, the US, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China or South-East Asia. This guide covers the practical side: where to go, how to get there, and how to turn a few days in Bengaluru into a shortlist of partners.
Dates, hours and venue
IMTEX 2027 runs 21 to 27 January 2027 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), 10th Mile, Tumkur Road, Bengaluru. Visitor hours are 10:00 to 17:00 daily, according to the organiser's site. Tooltech and Digital Manufacturing run alongside, so plan time for all three. Getting there
Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport has direct flights from many cities worldwide. The organiser notes airport shuttle buses for visitors staying in the city centre, and airport taxis if you stay near the venue. The Bengaluru Metro now reaches Madavara (BIEC), which the organiser lists as a way to reach IMTEX 2027. Tumkur Road traffic can be heavy in show week, so build in buffer time between meetings.
How many days
Three working days is enough for a first visit: one to walk the halls by machine category, one for pre-booked meetings, one for follow-ups. The show runs seven days; weekdays are usually better for meeting plant decision-makers, but confirm the hall plan with your Indian contacts.
Before you land
Book meetings two to three weeks ahead; do not expect to arrange them on site. Decide which categories you care about and mark those halls on the floor plan from imtex.in. Prepare a one-page company and product sheet. Agree in advance who covers each meeting, so a small team does not spread thin.
What to look for
Note which competitors are exhibiting and how they present to Indian buyers. Collect distributor impressions and check them later with our distributor evaluation checklist. Ask buyers what service response time they expect, since that often decides a purchase.
After the show
Send follow-ups within a week while the conversation is fresh. Visit two or three promising plants if time allows. Decide at that point whether to appoint a partner, exhibit at the next IMTEX, or build local support.
